Agitated Thin Film Evaporator Working Principle: An ideal thermal treatment solutions and heat sensitive products, where we reduce operating temperatures and operating pressures. The typical Agitated Thin Film Evaporator[ATFE] design consists of a tubular heat transfer area with an external heating jacket and a fast-revolving, inner rotor with flexible or rigid wiper elements. Thin or wiped film evaporator is the ideal apparatus for continuous processing of heat sensitive, viscous and/or fouling products.
It consists of a single evaporation tube fitted with a mechanical rotating device that ensures a uniform distribution of the liquid on the heated surface, a constant mixing of the film and minimal fouling of the evaporation surface. The vapors produced rise upwards, counter-current to the liquid and, pass trough a cyclone separator mounted in the top section. Thanks to the large cross-sectional area, the pressure drop across the evaporator is low and operate in the vacuum range as low as possible.
